Year 10 Students Inspired by Visit to Girton College, University of Cambridge
Year 10 students recently had the exciting opportunity to visit Girton College, University of Cambridge, as part of our ongoing pathways programme aimed at raising aspirations and helping students explore their future education options.
During the visit, students experienced life at one of the UK’s most prestigious universities. They took part in a guided tour of the college, learning about its rich history, impressive facilities and the wide range of subjects available to study at university level. Students were able to explore the beautiful campus, hear about student life, and gain a better understanding of the academic opportunities that Cambridge can offer.
The day also included interactive sessions designed to challenge students’ thinking and encourage them to consider the pathways available after school and sixth form. They learned about the university application process, the support available to students, and the benefits of higher education.
Throughout the visit, our students represented the school exceptionally well, demonstrating curiosity, maturity and enthusiasm. They asked insightful questions and engaged positively with the activities, showing a genuine interest in their future opportunities.
Visits such as these play an important role in broadening horizons and helping students to recognise that ambitious destinations, including university study, are achievable with hard work, determination and the right support.
We hope the experience has inspired our Year 10 students to continue aiming high as they begin to think about their future pathways and career aspirations.
