Year 7 Residential Visit to PGL Dearne Valley
14th-16th October
Our Year 7 students enjoyed an exciting and memorable residential trip to PGL Dearne Valley from 14th to 16th October. The three-day adventure provided pupils with opportunities to challenge themselves, develop new skills, build friendships, and create lasting memories.
Throughout the visit, students took part in a wide range of adventurous activities designed to encourage teamwork, resilience, problem-solving and confidence. Activities included high ropes, archery, raft building, team-building exercises and other outdoor pursuits. Pupils embraced each challenge with enthusiasm, showing determination and supporting one another every step of the way.
The residential experience allowed students to step outside their comfort zones and discover strengths they may not have realised they possessed. Many pupils achieved personal goals, whether conquering a fear of heights, trying a new activity for the first time, or demonstrating leadership within their groups.
Evenings were filled with fun social activities, giving students the chance to relax, make new friends and strengthen existing relationships. Staff were extremely impressed by the behaviour, attitudes and positive spirit shown by all participants throughout the trip.
The residential was not only an enjoyable experience but also an important opportunity for personal growth. Students returned with increased confidence, greater independence and a stronger sense of community within the year group.
We would like to thank the staff who accompanied the trip and the parents and carers for their support. Most importantly, congratulations to our Year 7 students for representing the school so positively and making the residential such a success.
We look forward to seeing how the skills, confidence and friendships developed at PGL Dearne Valley continue to flourish throughout the school year.
