School Uniform

Our school uniform is an important expression of our pride in ourselves as a school and we expect all students to be in the correct uniform.

* Tailored trousers or Coppice plaid school skirt must be worn by girls.  This gives a smart and ‘business like’ appearance to our students.  A tailored trouser or skirt is like that which would form part of a suit.  It is not tight; skinny; stretch lycra or drainpipe trouser and it is not a tight, short, tube, stretch or lycra skirt.

Please note: No sweatshirts, no trainers or fabric shoes

Uniform including ties, badges and jumpers are available from Crested Schoolwear.

Make up / Nail extentions – Make up and nail extensions are allowed by the school.

Hair colour – Dyed hair of any colour is allowed by the school.

Jewellery – The only jewellery which can be worn is:

  • A watch
  • One ring of sentimental value
  • One small stud in the lobe of each pierced ear.  No other items of body piercing jewellery should be worn.
  • Students refusing to remove piercings will be placed in isolation

Any other jewellery worn in school may be confiscated

School bag – This is essential to protect the various books issued for which students are responsible.

It is advisable that when PE kit is used it should be put separately in a polythene bag.

All items of clothing should be clearly marked with students’ names.  Students should wear the correct uniform at all times.  If for any unforeseen reason your child is not wearing full uniform they should report to their Head of Year immediately on arrival at school. If a student persistently fails to conform to the school uniform they will be isolated until the situation is addressed.

Coppice School PE Kit Policy

Core PE Kit

At Coppice the minimum expectation is for students to wear polo shirt, shorts/sports leggings, socks and suitable footwear. We strongly advise additional items such as the Coppice Jumper or plain black raincoat for poor weather conditions. This applies to all core PE lessons (Y7-11 students).

Sports clothing is available via  Crested Schoolwear, Wulfrun Centre, Wolverhampton, WV1 3HG. Or www.crestedschoolwear.co.uk

BTEC Sport Kit

Students who have selected to study L2 BTEC Sport will be allowed to attend Coppice in their FULL BTEC SPORT KIT (including tracksuit jacket, tracksuit bottoms/shorts, t-shirt and socks) ONLY on the days they have BTEC Sport lessons

  • Year 9- Monday (NFF group), Friday (NFF and SMM groups)
  • Year 10- Monday (STT Group), Tuesday (JWW Group), Wednesday (HD Group)
  • Year 11- Monday (SMM and NFF Groups), Thursday (NFF and MDD Groups)

Equipment

All students should bring the following equipment, to all lessons every day.  These should be in a pencil case:

Pens (at least black and green), pencil, ruler, rubber, pencil sharpener and some crayons or felts.  All students will also need a Scientific Calculator which can be purchased from school through Parent Pay, at a discounted price.

Mobile Phones

Students are not allowed to use their mobile phones in school. They must be turned off and out of sight. If students are caught using their mobile phones, they will be confiscated and returned at the end of the day.

If a parent wishes to contact their son or daughter they should contact the school.

The school can take no responsibility for the loss of personal electronic equipment.
