Year 7 Students Explore Future Careers Through Industry Q&A Sessions

Year 7 students recently had the exciting opportunity to take part in a careers-focused Question and Answer sessions, helping them gain valuable insight into the world of work and the wide range of opportunities available to them in the future.

The first session was a virtual Q&A with ICAEW (Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales), where students learned about careers in accountancy, finance, and business. They discovered the different pathways into the profession, the skills required for success, and the variety of roles available within the financial sector.

Students also participated in an in-person Q&A session delivered by RISE, providing them with the chance to meet professionals face-to-face and hear first-hand about their career journeys. The session encouraged students to think about their own aspirations while learning about the importance of employability skills such as communication, teamwork, resilience, and problem-solving.

Throughout the event, students demonstrated excellent engagement, asking thoughtful questions and showing genuine curiosity about future career opportunities. The sessions helped students make connections between their learning in school and the skills needed in the workplace.

These experiences form an important part of our careers programme, raising aspirations and helping students to explore the many pathways available to them. We are incredibly proud of the maturity, enthusiasm, and confidence shown by Year 7 throughout both sessions.

A huge thank you to ICAEW and RISE for supporting our students and providing such informative and inspiring experiences.
