Faculty of Medicine and Health at the University of Leeds.
There is an opportunity for Year 12 students to join a blended sustained outreach programme, Leeds Futures, with four subject strands currently open for applications – Medicine, Dentistry, Healthcare and Psychology. These programmes have been designed to give students from less advantaged backgrounds the knowledge, experience and confidence to apply to study a competitive course at university, and have supported hundreds of students over the past 5 years to progress onto university study.
The programme takes place from the January of Year 12 to December of Year 13, with students taking part in fortnightly evening workshops online and two campus visits (including a Subject Taster Day and Admissions Tests Preparation Day) taking place in school holidays across the year, to help them develop their insight into their chosen subject and navigate the application process. Travel bursaries are available to allow students nationwide to access these events.
Students who complete either programme, as well as meeting our minimum entry requirements and any other eligibility criteria, will get special consideration for an interview at Leeds when they apply in Year 13 (for students on our Medicine, Dentistry or Healthcare strands).
It would be great to see some of your students join us for this year’s programmes. I’ve shared links to the application pages below. It would be greatly appreciated if you could share these with your students and encourage them to apply. Applications close on Sunday 23rd November:
