Building confidence – Y9 Premier League Inspires
Premier League Inspires is a new education programme developed by the Premier League, aimed at children and young people between the ages of 11 and 25. Working in partnership with the Premier League and the Prince’s Trust, Wolves Foundation have developed a programme to engage with secondary schools across the city to provide learners with an alternative classroom experience. Fortunately, two groups of Coppice Y9 students have had the privilege in taking part in the programme to develop further their own inter-personal and self-management skills which they can transfer and apply later in life. In addition, as part of their programme they have been tasked with improving the community and surrounding areas as part of their “Active Citizenship” and “Social Action” units.
This video showcases the work that has been completed by the students during the “Active Citizenship” unit where students carried out voluntary work alongside the Canal & River Trust. A few students discuss how they have benefitted from the programme in not only developing themselves as individuals but also how they have helped the community.
Also the video showcases the fundraising events that took part in school to help raise money for “Feed Our Pack” in which over £460 was raised over two days and also a “Bake Off” in order to raise money for Age UK.
We are delighted as a school that we have been able to work closely with the Wolves Foundation and look forward to continuing this partnership in future years.
